In the case that a patient loses all of or most of their teeth, complete dentures or partial dentures can be made to replace the missing teeth.  Complete dentures are made of a plastic material (acrylic) that allow a patient to smile with the appearance of natural teeth and restore some of the function they had with their natural teeth.  Partial dentures rely on metal clasps to snap on a patient’s remaining teeth to help hold them in.

Over time, dentures will wear and need to be replaced or relined. Regular dental examinations are still important for the denture wearer so that the oral tissues can be checked for disease or change.
